Meow Detective Terms of Use
Last updated: November 7, 2026
Welcome to the Meow Detective app (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. If they conflict, these terms prevail.
Accounts
- You can play as a guest or sign in with Apple. Guests have no sign-in method linked, so after switching phones or deleting the app your progress may be lost, and we can't restore it for you.
- Please keep your phone and Apple Account secure. Anything done with your account is treated as done by you.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app under “Settings › Delete Account”. Deleting it erases your progress, rankings and in-game items, and can't be undone.
Fair play
Please don't use any of the following to get unfair scores or benefits:
- Cheats, automatic solvers, modified versions of the app, or attacks on our servers
- Tampering with data sent to our servers, or exploiting bugs
- Changing your phone's date or time to get extra hints or other rewards
- Using multiple accounts to boost rankings
If we find a violation, we may remove the related scores, rankings and in-game items, and if necessary suspend or delete the account. If you find a bug, please email us.
Leaderboards and the Weekly Challenge
- Rankings, scoring, opening and closing times for the Daily puzzle and the Weekly Challenge follow the descriptions in the app, and we may adjust them.
- When fewer than 10 players take part, computer players fill the leaderboard. Computer players always rank below every human player and never affect human rankings or rewards.
- Ranking rewards given when a challenge closes are virtual in-game items (such as avatar frames) that can only be used within the Service.
In-game items and hints
Avatars, avatar frames, scene decorations and hints are virtual in-game content licensed to you for use within the Service only. They have no cash value and can't be exchanged for cash, transferred or sold. Hints are stored on your phone and may be reset if you reinstall the app.
Ads and subscriptions
- The free version shows ads.
- “Remove Ads” is an auto-renewable subscription charged to your App Store Apple Account. It renews automatically and charges the next period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can cancel at any time in the app under “Settings › Manage Subscription”, or on your iPhone under “Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions”. After canceling, you can keep using it until the end of the current period.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Deleting your account or the app doesn't cancel your subscription automatically.
Intellectual property
The software, puzzles, art, text and other content of the Service belong to us or to the rights holders who license them to us. Other than normal use of the Service, please don't copy, modify, distribute or use them commercially.
Changes and interruptions
We keep improving the Service and may add, change or remove features. We may also suspend the Service for maintenance, outages or events beyond our control. If we decide to end the Service, we will try to announce it in the app in advance.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for losses caused by using or being unable to use the Service (such as lost progress or rankings), except where caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app. By continuing to use the Service after a change, you agree to the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute shall be submitted to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance, unless otherwise required by law.
These terms are also available in Traditional Chinese. If the versions differ, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
